Information: Official Adidas Olympique Marseille Away Football Shirt from the 2000/01 season, as worn when 'Les Phocéens' finished 15th in Ligue 1 and reached the last 32 of both the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue. The reverse of the shirt boasts the nameset Liberian striker George Weah, who enjoyed a short spell at Marseille at the tail-end of a magnificent career which included spells at clubs such as Monaco, PSG, AC Milan, Chelsea & Manchester City. Widely regarded as one of the greatest African players of all time, Weah was named the FIFA World Player of the Year and won the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first and only player to win these awards while representing an African country internationally. Clearly a man of many talents, Weah is now a politician and served as the 25th President of Liberia from 2018 to 2024. A fantastic vintage jersey, ideal for a collection of your own or the perfect gift for any football fan.
Teammates: Including Gallas, Dos Santos, Luiz, Weah & Blondeau.
Condition: Excellent. A few tiny bobbles and one very small pin hole on the front left flank (see photos). Otherwise, the jersey is in superb condition.
Dimensions: Pit-to-Pit= 61cm / Collar-to-Hem= 73cm.
